Training as a Science

At Moment Training we strive to provide safe, effective, and highly personalized training to people from all walks of life. Our goal is to have you feeling and moving better at the end of each training session than when you started.

We teach and apply evidence-based scientific methods for effective training and efficient use of your time. Using “movement screening” methods, we determine which exercises are safe for you to do and those to avoid which may be contributing to your musculoskeletal issues such as aches and pains, poor posture, limited range of motion, or a loss in physical performance. This approach also helps inform us to know when it may be necessary to refer you to a medical specialist.

Training you to move better and longer is our primary focus. We are not too concerned with exercises for the sole purpose of looking better, but that is often a pleasant side-effect of training functionally.

Current research shows that people who begin an exercise program independently are much more likely to develop injury than those who seek expert assessment and direction before they attempt to work out. We know that exercise is important for our health, but we often do not choose the proper exercises for optimal gain. As trainers and exercise facilitators, we will implement an intelligent, well-informed personalized approach that challenges our clients for their benefit but also will insure their safety and health. We continuously read the latest research articles and attend clinics, conferences, and classes to ensure that we are staying current with the latest theories on physical training.
